About This Game
Introduction: "Pokemon Great Fighting" is a bootleg game, not an official Nintendo or Game Freak release. It is a heavily modified version of the official Pokemon Emerald ROM, designed to run on Flash Classic systems and emulators. The game is set in the Hoenn region but features a completely altered narrative focused on martial arts and combat tournaments. Visually, it retains the Generation III engine but replaces many standard sprites with custom, often poorly translated, fighting-themed artwork.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game removes the traditional starter Pokemon choice. Instead, players begin with a Machop and must build a team focused almost exclusively on Fighting-type Pokemon. The difficulty is high and unbalanced, with sudden spikes in opponent levels, making it unsuitable for a standard Nuzlocke run. It does not include the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, nor does it add the Fairy type. The core mechanics are based on Pokemon Emerald, so it retains features like the Battle Frontier and day/night cycles, though these are often glitched.
Key Features:
- Exclusive Fighting-type roster, severely limiting team-building options compared to the base game.
- A completely rewritten, nonsensical story involving dojos and martial arts tournaments instead of Gym Leaders.
- Prevalent bugs, including broken text, graphical glitches, and potential game-crashing errors during battles.
