About This Game

Pokemon Celestium (beta 1) Box Art

Introduction: Pokemon Celestium (Beta 1) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It takes place in the new Celestia Region, a land with a focus on celestial themes and mythology. The visual style uses FireRed's engine with custom tiles, sprites, and maps to create a distinct environment.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack offers a choice of three new starters: Solflare (Fire), Lunara (Water), and Stellox (Grass). It is designed with a higher difficulty curve than the base game, featuring stronger Gym Leaders and trainers with more strategic teams, making it suitable for players seeking a challenge. Mechanically, it incorporates the Physical/Special split from later generations and includes the Fairy type. It does not feature Mega Evolution or a persistent day/night cycle in this beta.

Key Features:

  • A completely new region with towns, routes, and a storyline centered on ancient celestial legends.
  • An expanded Pokedex featuring a mix of custom Fakemon and Pokemon from generations 1-4, all obtainable within the beta's available areas.
  • Quality-of-life improvements from later games, such as reusable TMs and the ability to use Running Shoes indoors.

As an early beta, the game's content is incomplete and ends after a certain number of Gyms, with some areas and features still under development.
