It is a direct adaptation of the Pokémon Adventures manga, specifically following the story arcs of the protagonist, Red. The game spans multiple regions from the manga, including Kanto, the Sevii Islands, and the Orange Archipelago, with visuals matching the GBA engine but featuring custom sprites and maps to mirror the manga's events.
Gameplay & Mechanics: Your starter is predetermined as Poliwag, reflecting Red's first Pokémon in the manga. The game is not designed as a traditional Nuzlocke challenge; its difficulty is narrative-driven, with battles often scripted to follow the source material. It uses the FireRed engine, so it lacks the Physical/Special split and Fairy type. Key mechanical changes include a completely overhauled storyline, the ability to have Pokémon follow you, and a morality system where your choices can influence events. The game features a day/night cycle and seasons.
