Introduction: Pokemon Onyx Blue is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the new region of Korhal, a land with a distinct volcanic and mountainous aesthetic. The visual style retains the standard GBA sprite work but introduces new tilesets and maps to reflect its unique geography.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokemon: Charmander, Treecko, and Mudkip. It is known for its increased difficulty, featuring stronger Gym Leaders and wild Pokemon with higher levels, making it a popular choice for players seeking a challenge. The hack incorporates the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, modernizing battle mechanics. It does not include the Fairy type or Mega Evolution.
