About This Game
Introduction: Pokémon Chaos Black is a fan-made ROM hack of the official Game Boy Advance game Pokémon FireRed. It is set in the Kanto region but features a heavily altered storyline and roster. The visual style retains the FireRed engine, with some custom sprites and a generally darker color palette to match its name.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokémon: Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle. Its difficulty is notably higher than the base game, with stronger Gym Leaders and wild Pokémon, making it less forgiving for casual play. It does not implement the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, nor does it add the Fairy type or Mega Evolution. It retains the day/night cycle and other mechanical features of the Generation III engine it is built upon.
