About This Game
Introduction: Pokemon Dark Rising is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the original Kanto region but features a completely new, darker storyline involving a world-ending threat from another dimension. The visual style uses the standard FireRed engine with custom sprites for new characters and some Pokemon.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starters: Dratini, Larvitar, and Bagon. It is known for its high difficulty, featuring a steep level curve and powerful opponents early on, making it not particularly Nuzlocke-friendly for beginners. It uses the pre-Physical/Special split battle mechanics of its base game, and does not include the Fairy type or Mega Evolution. A day and night cycle is not present.
