About This Game

Pokemon Elements Box Art

Introduction: Pokemon Elements is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the new Elemental Region, a land shaped by the power of four elemental towers. The visual style uses the standard FireRed engine with custom maps and some new sprite work for characters and key locations.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokemon: Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. It is built on the Generation III engine, so it does not include the Physical/Special split from Generation IV or the Fairy type. The difficulty is moderately increased with stronger trainer teams, making it more challenging than the base game but not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke hack. Key mechanical changes include the addition of a day and night cycle, which affects wild Pokemon encounters and certain events tied to the elemental towers.

Key Features:

  • A new story involving four elemental towers (Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric) that must be conquered.
  • The inclusion of Pokemon from Generations I through III, with some availability changes to fit the region's theme.
  • Reusable TMs, a quality-of-life feature imported from later generations.

This hack provides a familiar but distinct adventure for players seeking a new storyline within the classic GBA framework.
