About This Game

Pokemon Emerald : Catch 'em All! Box Art

Introduction: "Pokemon Emerald: Catch 'em All!" is a fan-made ROM hack of the official Pokemon Emerald for the Game Boy Advance. It is not an official Nintendo product. The hack retains the original Hoenn region setting and the standard GBA visual style, but its primary goal is to modify the available Pokemon roster.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The core mechanic is the modification of wild Pokemon encounters and static gifts to make all 386 Pokemon from the first three generations obtainable in a single playthrough without trading. This includes starters and version exclusives from Ruby, Sapphire, and FireRed/LeafGreen. The difficulty level and core battle mechanics, such as the pre-Physical/Special split, remain unchanged from the base Emerald game. It is not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke challenge but functions as a standard playthrough with a complete Pokedex focus.

Key Features:

  • Complete National Dex Accessibility: All Pokemon from Generation I-III are programmed to appear somewhere in the Hoenn region, eliminating the need for multiple game cartridges or link cables to complete the Pokedex.
  • Modified Starter Choices: The game often alters the beginning of the game to offer an expanded selection of starter Pokemon from various generations, not just the original Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip.
  • Base Emerald Framework: It retains all original Emerald features like the Battle Frontier, double battles, and the storyline involving both Team Magma and Team Aqua, but these elements are now populated with a much wider variety of Pokemon.
The hack is best suited for players who want the Hoenn adventure with the freedom to build any team from the first three generations.
