About This Game
Introduction: This is a fan-made ROM hack of the official Pokemon Emerald for the Game Boy Advance. The hack's primary goal is to make all 202 Pokemon from the original Hoenn regional Pokédex obtainable within a single playthrough without trading. The story setting remains the Hoenn region, and it retains the standard visual style and engine of the base game.
Gameplay & Mechanics: You begin with the standard choice of Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip. The difficulty level is identical to the original Emerald, as the hack does not modify trainer teams or AI. Key mechanical changes are focused on availability, not battle systems; it does not include the Physical/Special split, the Fairy type, or Mega Evolution. The day/night cycle and other base game mechanics function as normal.
Key Features:
- Complete Hoenn Dex Availability: Every Pokemon from #001 Treecko to #202 Deoxys can be caught in the wild or obtained through in-game events, eliminating the need for link cable trades to complete the Pokédex.
- Revised Wild Encounters: The hack edits wild Pokemon locations across Hoenn to include species that were previously version-exclusive or event-only, such as the Legendary Titans Regirock, Regice, and Registeel, and the Eon Duo Latias and Latios.
- Quality-of-Life Tweaks: While the core focus is on Pokemon availability, many versions of this hack also include minor fixes like the implementation of running shoes indoors and the removal of trade-based evolution requirements for Pokemon like Alakazam or Gengar, allowing them to evolve by level-up or item use instead.
This hack is designed for players who want the classic Emerald experience with the added convenience of a self-contained, completable Pokédex.
