About This Game

Pokemon Fire Red : Generations (v1.5) Box Art

Introduction: Pokémon Fire Red: Generations (v1.5) is a fan-made ROM hack of the official Pokémon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the familiar Kanto region but features a completely rewritten narrative that takes place several years after the events of the original games. The visual style uses the standard FireRed engine with some custom sprite edits for characters and Pokémon.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack retains the original three Kanto starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Its difficulty is significantly increased, featuring tougher trainers with better AI, higher-level Pokémon, and more strategic teams, making it less suitable for casual Nuzlocke runs without planning. It implements the modern Physical/Special split from Generation IV and adds the Fairy type and its associated moves. The game does not include Mega Evolution or a day/night cycle.

Key Features:

  • Expanded Post-Game Storyline: After becoming Champion, a new narrative arc opens involving Team Rocket remnants and a threat from the Sevii Islands, providing substantial additional content.
  • Updated Pokémon Roster: The regional Pokédex includes all 386 species from Generations I through III, with many later-evolution Pokémon like Scizor and Steelix available before the post-game.
  • Quality-of-Life Improvements: The hack includes reusable TMs, the ability to use Running Shoes indoors, and an IV Checker in the Pokémon Status screen to aid in team building.

This hack is designed for players seeking a more challenging and complete Kanto experience with modern mechanics.
