About This Game

Pokemon Infernal Legend (beta 2.1) Box Art

Introduction: Pokemon Infernal Legend (beta 2.1) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. The game is set in the new Inferno Region, a land shaped by volcanic activity and ancient legends. Visually, it retains the standard GBA sprite style of FireRed but adds new maps, characters, and some custom sprites to fit its fiery theme.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack offers a choice of three starter Pokemon: Charmander, Torchic, and Cyndaquil, all Fire-types, which sets a consistent thematic challenge. The difficulty is notably higher than the base game, with tougher trainer AI and Gym Leaders using more strategic teams, making it less Nuzlocke-friendly for beginners. It implements the Physical/Special split from later generations and includes the Fairy type. However, it does not feature Mega Evolution or a persistent day/night cycle. Key mechanical changes include reusable TMs and the addition of running shoes that work indoors.

Key Features:

  • A completely new story involving the legendary Heatran and the antagonistic Team Magma, who have a revised role in this region.
  • An expanded Pokedex featuring Pokemon from Generations 1-4, with a heavy emphasis on Fire, Rock, and Ground-types to match the environment.
  • The inclusion of post-game content such as the Battle Frontier and additional legendary Pokemon encounters, though some areas may be incomplete or buggy as this is a beta version.
As a beta, players should expect some unfinished areas, potential scripting errors, and occasional graphical glitches.
