About This Game

Pokemon : Iron Version (beta) Box Art

Introduction: Pokémon: Iron Version (beta) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the new Korros Region, a land shaped by industrial progress and ancient secrets. The visual style uses FireRed's engine with custom tiles and sprites to create a more metallic and urban atmosphere compared to the original Kanto.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokémon: Riolu, Shinx, and Gible, all from later generations. It is built on a modified FireRed engine that includes the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, making it more modern. The difficulty is higher than standard FireRed, with tougher Gym Leaders and wild Pokémon, but it is not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke challenge. The Fairy type is not present in this hack.

Key Features:

  • A completely new region with eight original Gyms and a storyline centered on industrial conflict and legendary titans.
  • Access to Pokémon from Generations I through IV, expanding the available roster beyond the FireRed base.
  • Quality-of-life improvements like reusable TMs and the ability to run indoors from the start of the game.
As a beta, the game may contain unfinished areas and occasional bugs, but it presents a complete adventure through the Korros Region.
