About This Game

Pokemon Jupiter Box Art

Introduction: Pokemon Jupiter is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon Emerald for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the new region of Oblivia, which features a distinct visual style with custom tilesets and sprites, including a darker, more autumnal palette compared to the original Hoenn. The story involves investigating a mysterious comet and the activities of the new villainous team, Team Eclipse.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three custom starters: Shinx, Riolu, and Bagon. It is built on the Generation III engine, so it does not include the Physical/Special split from Generation IV or the Fairy type. The difficulty is moderately increased, with stronger trainer teams and revised wild Pokemon levels, making it more challenging than the base game but not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke hack. Key mechanical changes include a full day/night cycle and the addition of several Pokemon from Generations IV and V, integrated into the Oblivia region's dex.

Key Features:

  • A completely new region with eight new Gyms and an original storyline centered on celestial events.
  • An expanded Pokedex featuring Pokemon from Generations I through V, including evolutions like Tangrowth and Mamoswine.
  • Quality-of-life improvements from later games, such as the Vs. Seeker for rematching trainers and the ability to run indoors.
The hack is a complete adventure that repurposes the Emerald engine for a fresh journey.
