About This Game
Introduction: Pokémon Naranja (Spanish: Beta 5) is a Spanish-language ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the new Naranja Archipelago, a region based on the Sevii Islands from the original game but vastly expanded into a full tropical adventure. The visual style uses FireRed's base graphics with new maps, sprites, and a distinct island-hopping theme.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game retains the standard Kanto starter choice of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Its difficulty is moderate, staying close to the original FireRed's level curve, making it accessible but not specifically designed for Nuzlocke challenges. Mechanically, it uses the Generation III engine, so it lacks the Physical/Special split, the Fairy type, and Mega Evolution. Key changes are narrative and geographical rather than foundational engine overhauls.
Key Features:
- A completely new story set across the tropical Naranja Archipelago, involving Team Rocket's resurgence and the legendary bird Ho-Oh.
- An expanded Pokédex that includes all 386 Pokémon available up to Generation III, with many found in new island locations.
- The inclusion of the Orange Crew as the region's Gym Leaders, replacing the traditional Kanto lineup, and the integration of elements from the anime's Orange Islands arc.
As a beta version, the game may contain unfinished areas, scripting bugs, or occasional translation quirks, but it offers a complete journey through its unique island region. This hack provides a familiar Gen III experience with a fresh Spanish-language narrative and setting.
