About This Game
Introduction: Pokémon Resolute (Beta 2.2) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald for the Game Boy Advance. The game takes place across three regions: the player begins in the new region of Tybalt, but later travels to the established regions of Johto and Victory Island. It uses the standard GBA sprite style of the Generation III games, with some custom tiles and sprites for new areas and characters.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack uses the Generation V battle mechanics, including the Physical/Special split, reusable TMs, and the addition of the Fairy type. It does not include Mega Evolution. The game offers a choice of three starters: Riolu, Gible, and Larvitar. The difficulty is notably higher than the official games, with tougher Gym Leaders and a higher-level curve, making it less forgiving for casual Nuzlocke runs. A day and night cycle is present, affecting wild encounters.
Key Features:
- A massive Pokédex featuring over 720 Pokémon from Generations I through VI, allowing for extensive team-building options.
- A lengthy, multi-region storyline that continues the plot of the creator's previous hack, Pokémon Victory Fire, involving the villainous group Dimension.
- Post-game content including the Battle Frontier from Emerald and special events to catch legendary Pokémon like Mewtwo and Arceus.
As a beta version, players may encounter occasional bugs or graphical glitches, but the core adventure is largely complete and offers a substantial challenge for seasoned players.
