About This Game
Introduction: Pokemon Sandstorm Adventures (beta 2.5) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. The game is set in the new Kaskade Region, a land dominated by deserts and canyons. Visually, it retains the standard GBA sprite style but features new world maps, character sprites, and a distinct arid color palette.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack offers a choice of three starter Pokemon: Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip. It is known for a higher difficulty curve than the base game, with tougher trainer battles and Gym Leaders, making it a popular choice for players seeking a challenge. Mechanically, it is built on the FireRed engine, so it does not include the Physical/Special split from Generation IV or the Fairy type. Key changes include a functional day and night cycle and the addition of running shoes that can be used indoors.
