About This Game

Pokemon Sienna (beta 4) Box Art

Introduction: Pokémon Sienna (Beta 4) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. The game is set in the new Sienna Region, a landmass with diverse environments including deserts, forests, and volcanic areas. Visually, it retains the core GBA sprite style while introducing new tilesets, character sprites, and a custom region map.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack offers a choice of three starter Pokémon: Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip from the Hoenn region. Its difficulty is elevated compared to the base game, featuring stronger Gym Leaders and trainers with improved AI and move-sets, making it a solid choice for players seeking a challenge. Mechanically, it incorporates the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, which fundamentally changes move categorization and battle strategy. The Fairy type is not present in this beta. Key quality-of-life improvements include reusable TMs and the ability to use Running Shoes indoors.

Key Features:

  • A completely original Sienna Region with eight new Gyms and a custom storyline.
  • An expanded Pokédex featuring Pokémon from Generations I through IV, allowing for a wider team-building variety.
  • The inclusion of Mega Evolution for certain Pokémon, a mechanic introduced in Generation VI, adding a late-game strategic layer to battles.
As a beta, the game may contain unfinished areas or minor bugs, but Beta 4 represents a largely complete and polished experience up to the Pokémon League.
