Pokemon : The First Day

Introduction: Pokemon: The First Day is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is not an official release. The game is set in the new Koruto Region and follows a visual style identical to the standard GBA titles, using the same engine and tile sets as its base game.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack retains the standard starter choice of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Its difficulty is moderately increased compared to the original FireRed, featuring stronger Gym Leader teams and wild Pokemon with higher levels, making it somewhat more challenging for a standard playthrough but not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke hack. Mechanically, it does not implement the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, nor does it add the Fairy type or Mega Evolution. It does include a functional day and night cycle, which affects wild Pokemon encounters and certain in-game events.

Key Features:
