About This Game

Pokemon Tiberium Box Art

Introduction: Pokemon Tiberium is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is set in the new Kaskade Region, a land of islands and waterways. The visual style uses the standard GBA tiles and sprites from the Generation III era, with some custom sprite work for new characters and a few original Pokemon.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokemon: Eevee, Riolu, and Bagon. Its difficulty is notably higher than the official games, featuring stronger Gym Leaders and wild Pokemon with better movesets, making it less forgiving for a casual Nuzlocke run. It retains the original Generation III mechanics, meaning it does not include the Physical/Special split from Generation IV or the Fairy type. Key mechanical changes include a full National Pokedex available from the start and the ability to catch all Pokemon from Generations I through IV within the region.

Key Features:

  • A completely original story involving the villainous Team Rocket and a mysterious new energy source called Tiberium.
  • Access to a massive roster of over 380 Pokemon from the first four generations, including many legendary Pokemon integrated into the main story.
  • New areas and dungeons, such as the Kaskade Tunnels and Mt. Pyreous, designed to challenge players with higher-level encounters and puzzles.
The hack is known for its expansive scope and challenging late-game content, though it can suffer from occasional bugs common to large-scale ROM hacks.
