About This Game
Introduction: Pokemon Vortex (Beta 2.0) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. The game is set in the new Vortex Region, a land threatened by the mysterious Team Vortex. Visually, it uses the standard Generation 3 engine with some custom tiles and sprites for new areas and characters.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack offers a choice of three starters: Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle. It is designed to be more challenging than the base game, with higher-leveled trainers and Gym Leaders, making it suitable for players seeking a tougher experience. It incorporates the Physical/Special split from Generation 4, which is a significant mechanical upgrade over the original FireRed. The Fairy type is not present, and the game does not feature Mega Evolution. A day and night cycle is implemented, affecting certain Pokemon encounters.
