Introduction: Pokémon Adventure: Red Chapter is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It is a direct adaptation of the Pokémon Adventures manga, specifically following the story arcs of the protagonist, Red. The game is set across multiple regions, beginning in Kanto but expanding far beyond, with visuals matching the standard GBA style but incorporating numerous custom sprites and maps to match manga events.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The player starts with a Poliwag as their first Pokémon, a direct reference to the manga. The game's difficulty is notably higher than the official titles, with more challenging trainer battles and complex puzzles, making it less suited for casual Nuzlocke runs without planning. It is built on the FireRed engine, so it does not include the Physical/Special split, the Fairy type, or Mega Evolution. However, it features a day/night cycle and includes Pokémon from generations beyond the first three.
