About This Game
Introduction: Pokémon Lightning Yellow is a fan-made ROM hack of the Game Boy Advance game Pokémon FireRed. It is not an official release. The hack takes place in the Kanto region and is a direct enhancement of the original Pokémon Yellow experience, using the more advanced GBA engine. The visual style is largely that of FireRed, but with specific adjustments to follow the Yellow version's premise.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game follows the Pokémon Yellow starter formula: you begin with a Pikachu that follows you outside its Poké Ball, and you later receive the three Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) from Professor Oak. As a beta version (v0.12), it is a complete playthrough up to the Elite Four. The difficulty is similar to the original games and is not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke challenge. It retains the original FireRed mechanics, meaning it does not include the Physical/Special split, Fairy type, or Mega Evolution.
