About This Game

Pokemon Resolute (v1.07) Box Art

Introduction: Pokémon Resolute (v1.07) is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald for the Game Boy Advance. The game takes place across three regions: the player begins in the new Tyron Region, later travels to the Johto Region, and finally explores a post-cataclysmic version of Hoenn. It uses the standard GBA graphical style of the Generation III games but with new maps, sprites, and a significantly expanded narrative.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starters: Eevee, Riolu, or Zorua. Its difficulty is notably higher than official games, featuring tougher Gym Leaders and a level curve that demands strategic team building, making it less forgiving for casual Nuzlocke runs. It incorporates the Physical/Special split from Generation IV and includes Pokémon and moves from Generations IV, V, and VI, though it does not implement the Fairy type. Key quality-of-life mechanics include reusable TMs and the ability to use Running Shoes indoors.

Key Features:

  • A massive post-game chapter set in a transformed Hoenn, dealing with the aftermath of primal Groudon and Kyogre.
  • An extensive roster featuring over 380 Pokémon from the first six generations, including many Legendaries obtainable through story events.
  • A complex, multi-part storyline involving warring factions like Team Delta and Team Asgard, with a darker narrative tone than the base game.

Version 1.07 is considered a more stable build, though some players may still encounter minor scripting bugs or progression quirks typical of large-scale hacks.
