About This Game
Introduction: This is the official Italian-language release of Pokémon Stadium 2 for the Nintendo 64. It is not a ROM hack or bootleg. The game is a battle simulator and companion title for the Game Boy Color games Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Its setting is the Stadium colosseum itself, with 3D polygonal visuals that bring the Johto and Kanto Pokémon to life on a home console.
Gameplay & Mechanics: There are no traditional starter Pokémon or an overworld to explore. The core gameplay is turn-based battling using Pokémon transferred from the Game Boy games via the Transfer Pak. The difficulty is modular, with cups ranging from the easy Poké Cup to the challenging Prime Cup. The game uses the Generation II mechanics from the handheld titles, meaning it includes the Dark and Steel types, a day/night cycle for certain moves, and the split of Special into Special Attack and Special Defense, but it does not have the later Physical/Special split. It is not designed as a "Nuzlocke" game but serves as a high-level battle challenge.
Key Features:
- Full Johto and Kanto Pokédex: The game supports all 251 Pokémon from Generation II, allowing you to battle with and see every species in 3D.
- Mini-Game Collection: It includes a robust set of multiplayer mini-games, such as Clefairy Says and Ekans Hoop Hurl, which are often highlights for casual play.
- GB Tower and Gym Leader Castle: You can play the entire Gold, Silver, or Crystal game on the TV through the GB Tower, and challenge all the Gym Leaders and the Elite Four in a row in the Gym Leader Castle mode.
This release is a direct port of the English version with a complete Italian translation, making it the definitive way for Italian-speaking players to experience the definitive Gen II stadium experience.
