About This Game

Pokemon Stadium 2 (Spain) Box Art

Introduction: "Pokemon Stadium 2 (Spain)" is not a ROM hack or a bootleg; it is the official Spanish-language release of the Nintendo 64 game Pokemon Stadium 2. It is a direct sequel to the original Pokemon Stadium and serves as a companion title to the Game Boy Color games Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal. The game does not have a traditional story or region to explore; instead, it is a 3D battle simulator set in various stadium arenas, designed to interface with the handheld games.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The core gameplay revolves around battling. Players can rent pre-set teams of Pokemon or transfer their own from Gold, Silver, or Crystal via the Transfer Pak accessory. There is no starter Pokemon choice or overworld exploration. The difficulty is modular, with cups ranging from the simple Poké Cup to the challenging Prime Cup. The game introduced the Gym Leader Castle and Elite Four modes, which use the updated Gen II mechanics, including the Dark and Steel types, held items, and the special/physical split being determined by move type. It is not designed as a Nuzlocke experience.

Key Features:

  • Complete Gen II Pokedex: The game includes all 251 Pokemon from the Johto and Kanto regions, with fully rendered 3D models and animations for battle.
  • Enhanced Mini-Games: Features nine mini-games, such as Clefairy Says and Ekans Hoop Hurl, which support up to four players and are more complex than those in the first Stadium.
  • GB Tower Integration: Players can play their actual Pokemon Gold, Silver, or Crystal Game Pak on the N64 through the Transfer Pak, displaying the game on the television screen.

The Spanish release is a faithful localization of the English version, with no major bugs or translation issues inherent to the official software.
