About This Game
Introduction: Pokémon Blaze Black and Pokémon Volt White are a pair of ROM hacks of the official Nintendo DS games Pokémon Black and Pokémon White. Created by Drayano, these hacks retain the original Unova region and story but are comprehensive enhancement mods focused on increased difficulty and complete Pokédex availability.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The hacks feature a vastly expanded roster, allowing you to encounter all 649 Pokémon from Generations I through V within the Unova region. Starter choices are expanded from the original trio; you can choose from any of the traditional starters from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh, in addition to the Unova starters. The difficulty is significantly increased, with all trainer teams—including Gym Leaders and the Elite Four—having full parties of six, higher levels, and improved AI and movesets. It is considered Nuzlocke-friendly due to its expanded encounter tables and balanced challenge. The hack builds on the Generation V engine, so it includes the Physical/Special split and does not add the Fairy type or Mega Evolution.
Key Features:
- Complete National Pokédex: Every Pokémon from Bulbasaur to Genesect is obtainable in a single playthrough without trading, including many legendaries placed in new static encounters.
- Enhanced Trainer Battles: All major trainers have redesigned, stronger teams with better type coverage and held items, requiring more strategic planning.
- Quality-of-Life Improvements: Key changes include reusable TMs, the ability to run indoors, an increased experience gain rate to reduce grinding, and edited wild encounter tables to make previously rare Pokémon more accessible.
