About This Game
Introduction: This is an unofficial Spanish-language bootleg of the official Nintendo DS game Pokémon HeartGold. It is not a ROM hack with new content, but a direct, often poorly translated, copy of the original game. The story is set in the Johto region, with the player later traveling to Kanto. It uses the official game's visual style, which features sprite-based characters on 3D-rendered environments.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game is identical to the official Pokémon HeartGold in its mechanics. The player chooses one of three starters: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile. It retains the Physical/Special split introduced in Generation IV and features a real-time day/night cycle. The difficulty is standard for the official games, though the poor translation can sometimes make puzzles or item descriptions confusing. The key mechanical change from the original Gold and Silver is the addition of the Pokéwalker connectivity, though this feature is often non-functional in bootleg copies.
Key Features:
- Faithful Johto & Kanto Remake: The game is a remake of Pokémon Gold and Silver, featuring updated graphics, music, and the expanded story of the originals, including 16 Gyms.
- Pokémon Follow the Player: Your lead Pokémon walks behind you in the overworld, a feature first introduced in Pokémon Yellow and brought back for this release.
- Poor Spanish Translation: As a bootleg, the game is infamous for its garbled, machine-translated, or nonsensical Spanish text, which can break immersion and cause gameplay confusion.
