Introduction: Pokémon Sacred Gold and Storm Silver is a comprehensive ROM hack of the official Nintendo DS games Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Created by Drayano, it is an enhancement hack that retains the original Johto and Kanto regions and story but overhauls the gameplay to provide a more challenging and complete experience. The visual style remains faithful to the original DS titles.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The hack features an expanded Pokédex with over 400 Pokémon available before the Elite Four, including many from later generations. You begin with a choice of the standard Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile, but can obtain other starters like Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle early in the game. The difficulty is significantly increased, with all major trainers having full teams of six Pokémon, improved AI, and better movesets, making it a popular choice for players seeking a challenge. It includes the Physical/Special split from Generation IV and incorporates moves and abilities from Generations IV and V, but does not add the Fairy type or Mega Evolution.
Key Features:
- Massively Expanded Pokémon Availability: Nearly every route and area has been repopulated, allowing for vastly more team-building options from the start. Many previously version-exclusive or post-game Pokémon are now accessible in the main story.

- Quality-of-Life Improvements: The hack incorporates features like reusable TMs, the ability to run indoors, and the removal of trade evolutions, allowing players to complete the full Pokédex without external trading. Key items like the Exp. Share are also obtainable earlier.
