Introduction: Pokemon Version Noire 2 (frieNDS) is a fan-made ROM hack of the official Pokemon Black 2. It is a French-language modification that runs on the Nintendo DS. The game is set in the Unova region, retaining the original's visual style and core map but with a complete narrative and dialogue overhaul to create a darker, more mature story.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game begins with the standard Black 2 starter choices: Snivy, Tepig, or Oshawott. It inherits the full suite of Generation V mechanics, including the Physical/Special split, reusable TMs, and triple/rotation battles. The primary change is a significantly increased difficulty level. Enemy trainers, especially Gym Leaders and rivals, have higher-level Pokemon with improved movesets and AI, making it a challenging experience that is not inherently Nuzlocke-friendly without planning. The Fairy type is not present, as the hack is based on a pre-Gen VI game.
