About This Game
Introduction: "Pokemon Double Battle" is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed. It is set in the Kanto region, but the story and world are heavily altered. The visual style uses the standard FireRed engine with some custom sprite work for new characters and events.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The game's core mechanic is that all standard trainer and wild battles are mandatory Double Battles. Your starter choice is between Ralts, Trapinch, and Bagon, all of which evolve into powerful late-game Pokemon. The difficulty is significantly higher than the base game, with tougher AI and teams built around double battle strategies, making it less Nuzlocke-friendly for beginners. It retains the original FireRed mechanics, meaning it does not include the Physical/Special split or the Fairy type.
