Introduction: Pokemon Priti Ruby: Hoenn Starters is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokemon FireRed. It is not an official game or a bootleg. The hack takes place in the Kanto region, using the standard FireRed map and visual style, but with a significant change to the available Pokemon roster.
Gameplay & Mechanics: The core feature is the replacement of the original Kanto starters. Instead of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, the player chooses from the three Hoenn starters: Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip. The hack does not implement the Physical/Special split from Generation IV, nor does it add the Fairy type. It retains the FireRed engine, meaning no Mega Evolution or a built-in day/night cycle. The difficulty is generally similar to the base FireRed game and is not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke challenge.
