About This Game

Pokemon Victory Fire (v2.35) Box Art

Introduction: Pokémon Victory Fire is a fan-made ROM hack of Pokémon FireRed for the Game Boy Advance. It takes place in the new Tyron Region, a land with a history of conflict between two ancient kingdoms. The visual style uses the standard GBA tiles and sprites from the third generation, with some custom maps and a new region layout.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokémon: Charmander, Treecko, or Piplup. It is built on the pre-Physical/Special split engine of FireRed, meaning move categories are still determined by type. The difficulty is higher than the official games, with stronger trainer teams and adjusted level curves, making it a moderate challenge but not specifically designed as a Nuzlocke. Key mechanical changes include the addition of the Dark and Steel types from later generations, though the Fairy type is not present. A day and night cycle is implemented.

Key Features:

  • A completely new story in the Tyron Region, involving the villainous team Team Steam and the legendaries Reshiram and Zekrom.
  • An expanded Pokédex featuring Pokémon from Generations I through IV, allowing for teams not possible in the original FireRed.
  • The inclusion of post-game content such as the Battle Frontier and additional legendary Pokémon encounters, extending playtime significantly.
This hack provides a substantial new adventure for players familiar with the GBA engine.
