Introduction: Pokémon Red: Proud Eyes (v3.0) is a fan-made ROM hack of the original Pokémon Red Version for the Game Boy. It is not an official game or a bootleg. The hack takes place in the familiar Kanto region but features a completely rewritten story and dialogue. Visually, it retains the original Game Boy's monochrome graphics and tile sets, with no major aesthetic overhauls to the core engine.

Gameplay & Mechanics: The game offers a choice of three starter Pokémon: Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. It is designed to be a more challenging experience than the base game, with increased trainer levels and altered team compositions, making it suitable for players seeking a difficult playthrough. Mechanically, it remains faithful to Generation I rules; there is no Physical/Special split, no Fairy type, and no day/night cycle.
